No. There is no contemporary, archeological, or historical evidence that they have been so. SETI has found no evidence of extraterrestrials anywhere, despite decades of increasingly sophisticated searching. While there are some intriguing anecdotal accounts, anecdotes aren't evidence.

The closest star to Earth is 4 light years away, no evidence of life around this star so can say with certainty that there is no life living on planets closer than 4 light years away
In our fastest space ships it would still take decades of planning and research and more than 10,000 years or travel to reach 4 light years away
People often say - "oh what if the aliens can travel at light speed"
well due to einstien's theory of relativity, if you were travelling light speed, then every photon in the universe would appear (to you) to be coming from a single point and they would all be gamma rays - so your ship would disintegrate or you would get cancer in a millisecond
Why would aliens want to travel for 10,000 years (provided they live that long) just to come and fly around in the sky so some crazy person can say they saw a UFO; without stopping to say hi to anyone else - seems like pointless trip to me
There are many, many, many other reasons against
I think there could easily be life out there somewhere. There are more than 100billion gallaxies in the observable universe each with more than 100billion stars all potentially with planets going round them and potentially with life - that is possible
