Was there a past before the Big Bang since time didn’t exist before the Big Bang?......

Was there a past before the Big Bang since time didn’t exist before the Big Bang?

answers:
deltafoxxray say: depends
-
david say: They have been lying for years how can something be made from nothing and children are being taught it in schools according to these evolutionists we came from a rock and primeval soup "DER" people need to wake up to the fact that every thing was made by a creator we did not just appear from nothing that is stupid but if that is what some want to believe then go ahead just try and make something from nothing you would rule the world.
-
aladdinwa say: No, there wasn't, for the very reason you cite.
-
Fred say: I am no expert on these things but my understanding is there is more than one universe, and they are all continuously expanding or contracting. At the moment ours is expanding. I think as a universe contracts back into a very dense black hole with an incredible unimaginable dense centre of virtually no physical size then explodes like a super size nuclear bomb which makes another new universe. Imagine all the matter in the universe in one very small lump of matter.
As I said I am no expert but think I am right.

Jeffrey K say: No. Time began at the Big Bang. It makes no sense to ask about a before. It is like asking what is north of the north pole? It isn't that we don't know. There just is no north direction at the north pole. And there is no past time direction at the Big Bang.
-
ReneeGade say: Time is a social construct to keep events from piling up all on the weekends. Time is an idea.
Like loyalty or worry or peace.
The Big Bang is an idea. It has been discussed, measured, and complained about. It is a possibility that looks "pretty good." AS new information comes in, it will be added to the pile of ideas.
You have some choices here: ignore it, read about it, discuss it, deny it, spend the rest of your life thinking about it. I choose to spend my time thinking and doing what I can for others here on earth now, not focusing on junk I have no control over and don't even care to understand.
-
Ronald 7 say: Yes
There had to have been a past
Like what caused the Big Bang to happen
Just like who made God ??
Time has never began nor will it stop
No Alpha or Omega
-
quantumclaustrophobe say: Well, time didn't exist *in our universe* prior to the Big Bang, as our universe didn't exist at all... If there was time before our universe existed - we have no way of referencing it.
-
Ashley say: Let me let you in on a secret. None knows. Science is always changing, their theories are always changing.
-
Adullah M say: Before the Big Bang , there is nothing existed or as being called nothingness , except its Sole Creator, whom HE is Omnipresent and being Absolute. Then the first pure energy that can perform work being created by its Creator, by saying to nothingness, BE and it is.
So this pure energy being ignited to become big bang and expand to be mass filling it in space . Then the Creator melted these three entities, energy, mass and space in to the dimension of time, through HIS intelligent design ,as we see the expanding universe of stars and planets and all heavenly bodies working together in unison as being called galaxies as of our Milky Way Galaxy.
If any one wanted to know the total number of stars in the whole universe then this formula can be used ie; !2 to the power of 21 .

Loveyou say: You say “since time didn’t exist before the Big Bang” with certainty and as an absolute. When in fact you don’t know and will never know if time in fact did not exist before “the Big Bang”. A Big Bang could not have created time itself, and anybody who believes absolute chaos could have create time itself is unbelievably ignorant. An explosion and time have absolutely no mathematical correlation between eachother. You should start to wonder the opposite, if time itself creates the Big Bang.
-
Allaa say: It actually depends on your own definition of "past"
-
David say: i can't remember.
-
Sophie say: No, the Big Bang never happened. It is a flawed theory.
-
Jim say: I don't know if anyone really knows if there was time before the big bang.

If there wasn't time as we know it, there still could have been hyper-time.
-
Jackolantern say: We could come up with theories all day and never know. But there was events within the process that made the Big Bang possible, so there was time. But it was just within the matter it's self that caused the Big Bang. Otherwise, there wouldn't have been a Big Bang.
-
Atheist Dude say: Non existetence.
-
Fred say: Why would you think that 'time' didn't exist before the Big Bang? Will time cease to exist if OUR universe collapses?

Time as you speak of it is only dependent upon OUR universe. Will time stop when you die? Was there no time before YOU were born. Is there a different time line if there are additional Universes?

Of Course there was TIME before the Big Bang event! You think time and the Big Bang just appeared out of nowhere? No time and No material? That this just happened like a whack on the side of your head?

Time is only a creative concept of the human existence. The concept may die with human extinction but time as a measure will live on!

The Big Bang is only an event on OUR universal time line, defining pre and post expansion.
-
busterwasmycat say: well, what would that mean? If "past" refers to "earlier time" and there is no such thing as time that is earlier, then one could not have a "past". One could discuss "past" in a sense that is not time-specific, but it would carry a different connotation, naturally. It would have to be described in terms of some other parameters (a proxy of sorts). I have no idea what ones, of course. I cannot imagine reality without time, except in the abstract.
-
Bill-M say: Where did you get the idea that time did not exist before the Big Bang??
The Big Bang is just an unproven theory and soon to be disproved.
They have a date for the big bang and now they are discovering light coming in that is further away than that date.
It may turn out that the so called Big Bang was just a local event in our area of the Universe.
Time is infinite in both directions.
Update: For all you nay sayers. Just wait. Big Bang will be disproved in our life time.
-
don say: Before...was GOD....the "big bang" was GOD snapping his fingers and creating everything.
-
Nerry say: The Big Bag theory is my favorite show, but there were shows before it
-
Who say: not as far as our universe is concerned
-
PHILIP say: The leading theory on that is the Big Crunch, where in the universe goes through a cyclic transformation. The Big Bang was and is a period of expansion, but gravity slows the expansion and eventually starts a Big Contraction that eventually compresses the universe back into a Singularity, then it explodes again in a Big Bang......Now, that's only a theory because nobody has lived billions upon billion of years to observe it. But to me, makes sense.
-
oneofmagi@rocketmail.com say: There is a question what is time. The time is chnging of material, we known. All material is from bigbang, we known.
-
Jacob say: I am going to have to say no. the big bang literally created everything, including time and space. so, there was no past before the big bang
-
Robert say: Yes. The dinosaurs lived on Earth prior to the Big Bang. The Big Bang wiped out the dinosaurs.
-
Dixon say: No one knows. There are lots of very different plausible theories but all we can really say is the there was a significant event 13.8 bn years ago when the universe was very hot and dense.
-
someg say: Yeah. The Big Bang wasn't that big anyway.
-
duke_of_urls say: There was no time for this universe before the Big Bang.
-
drake say: Maybe
-
Matt say: There was no big bang. God created everything. He is and was and always will be. He has no beginning and no end.
-
Acetek say: unknown it the correct response here
-
CarolOklaNola say: Yes. Just because the Universe did not exist YET, does not mean there could not be one or many previous universes..
