Cancer is a mutation & adaptation of a virus.-Yes of course they are why do u think there are so many types of flu?......
Are viruses able to adapt? What are the main functions of a virus? Does it have any structures?

-
Yes Viruses can adapt. Viruses are prokaryotic organisms that reproduce asexually. there main function is to live as a parasite to host. It does have structures that help it survive, such as nucleoid region, which contains their DNA, and ribosomes, for making protein, and they have a cell membrane. Viruses are able to adapt because they reproduce rapidly, since it reproduces asexually by mitosis usually. This helps them adapt because of genetic mutations occur faster, which makes stronger viruses survive and reproduce (microevolution). If you took medicine that killed viruses, some viruses may survive since there is so much of them, and some may have genes that help them survive against that medicine, making it "adapt" to the enviorment
