How are stem cells induced to mature into the required organ or tissue

Im in yr 11 and got stuck on this question for a human bio. assignment.

The stem cells are made to differentiate into the desired tissue by adding a suitable differentiation factor. Can u understand this.

The stem cell will be changed to a tissue when we add a protein which will signal the stem cell to change into a desired type of tissue.
