What is the "dent" or "valley" on the thigh called

This photo is not mine, I just found it of of the internet.and the bicep femoris-Its just a thigh muscle, Im not sure if it has a name.......
When a person has tier leg straight or sometimes even bent and flex thier thighs a certain way, there would be a "valley" on the side of thier thighs. What is the name? Here is a picture of it:

It is easily visible the lower thigh running from the knee up and casts a shadow. This photo is not mine, I just found it of of the internet.

the vastus lateralis
and the bicep femoris
