Please help me answer this questions about natural selection.? I'm so lost

In what circumstances would short-nosed Icky Wickys not leave behind as many offspring as a long-nosed Icky Wicky?-Icky wickys loved ice cream cones but hated the cones and they just couldnt reach the ice cream in the bottom of the cone with their short 1 inch noses.-First of all, you know what natural selection is, right? So suppose you had a species of polar bears living in the ice.......
By the way, I'm not an evolutionist--I don't think it should be taught in schools as factual, either.

You can answer your question on your own. Just remember the two parts of evolution--heritable variation and natural selection. In what circumstances would short-nosed Icky Wicky's not leave behind as many offspring as a long-nosed Icky Wicky?

First of all, you know what natural selection is, right? So suppose you had a species of polar bears living in the ice. For some reason, all of the polar bears were black. But one day, a white polar bear was born because of some mutation in the gene (the gene that made the polar bears be black was messed up and it mutated so the bear would be a diff color) . The white polar bear survived because its coat helped it blend in. So it lived long enough to reproduce. After a million years, if you looked at the polar bears, all of them were white. Why? Because the white polar bears lived long enough to reproduce. so this is natural selection= the white polar bears had an advantage over the black ones because of their gene. So soon, only they survived. Nature got rid of the things that didn't work and kept the ones that did.

Now for the Icky Wicky thing: this should be fun.

A long time ago, Icky Wiky's had short noses. So they couldn't smell a lot. Because they couldn't smell a lot, they ate plants that smelled bad. And they got sick and died. One Icky Wicky could smell just a little bit more than the others. Not a lot, but just a smidge more. She found out that the other plants were poisonous so she only ate the good ones. She reproduced and her kids had that same ability. And they used it a lot. Because they used it alot, their sense of smell EVOLVED and grew and grew and grew over millions of years. It became fine tuned to their environment. So now Icky Wickys have 6 inch noses.
