Ok so I was bored and in deep thought about the human brain and I was thinking, I dont think that chemicals being combined are really all that's at work. Just like how there's electricity and heat but there not really matter, they dont take up space. My hypothesis is that the chemicals and things in the brain create a type of energy that we just dont understand yet and that's how we have the ability to think. I guess you can call it a soul. Im not sure obviously about anything it was just a thought that actually made sense to me. I have not looked up how the brain works so dont act like I should know. Anyway opinions or facts please? Correct me if you want if you understand it.

You would be surprised to learn just how "mechanical" are brains tend to be, and how equally mechanical human consciousness is. For examples, research the topic of "brain injuries", "quantum consciousness", and the physics governing "free will".

Ultimately, you will discover that there's little room for soul hypothesis.

Ultimately, everything in nature has its origins in the quantum foam singularity of the big bang Universe. Everything, even life and consciousness, is (in my opinion) just a phase transitioned version of the origin of the Universe itself. Nature is far stranger than anyone knows.

Although Descartes was not the first to intro the concept of the brain being a material thing distinct from the mind which is not, others such as Spinoza and Kant have expounded on it. Descartes used an epistomological argument to get at this metaphysical concept.
Modern day science, for the most part won't touch it. The current trend is toward empirical evidence in this materialistic society i.e. capitalism, individualism, America's societal projections.
