1.2. A sexually reproducing animal has two unlinked genes, one for head shape (H) and one for tail length (T). Its Genotype is HhTt. which of the following genotypes is possible in a gamete from this organism?......
1.A true-breeding plant that produces yellow seeds is crossed with a true-breeding plant that produces green seeds. The F1 plants have yellow seeds. What is the expected phenotypical ratio of seed color of the offspring of an F1 x F1 cross?
A. 1:2:1
B. 2:1
C. 3:1
D. 9:3:3:1
E. 1.1
2. A sexually reproducing animal has two unlinked genes, one for head shape (H) and one for tail length (T). Its Genotype is HhTt. which of the following genotypes is possible in a gamete from this organism?
A. tt
B.Hh
C. HhTt
D. T
E. HT
3. When crossing an organism that is homozygous recessive for a single trait with a heterozygote, what is the chance of producing an offspring with the homozygous recessive phenotype?
A. 0 %
B. 25%
C. 50%
D. 75%
E. 100%
4. Round seeds (R) are dominant to wrinkled seeds (r), and yellow seeds (Y) are dominant to green seeds (y). what is the expected phenotypic ratio of a cross between an RrYy and an rryy individual?
A. 1:2:1
B. 9:3:3:1
C. 3:1
D. 6:5:4:1
E. 1:1:1:1
5. An individual with a genotype AaBb produces four different gametes in equal proportions. This is a demonstration of ___
A.the chromosomal theory of inheritance
B. Mendel's law of independent assortment
C. linkage
D. Crossing over
E. Mendel's principle of segregation
6. in certain plants, tall is dominant to short. if a heterozygous plant is crossed with a homozygous tall plant, what is the probability that the offspring will be short?
A. 1
B. 1/2
C. 1/4
D. 1/6
E. 0

THANK YOU FOR THE HELP! I really appreciate it.

1. C
All of the F1 generation is heterozygous (I'll say Yg). If you cross a Yg with a Yg using a punnet square you get 1/4 YY, 1/2 Yg, and 1/4 gg. This means 3/4 will be yellow and 1/4 will be green if yellow is dominant.

2. E
Gametes are haploid (have only 1 copy for each gene). Thus the only option that has one of each gene is the answer.

3. C
Say you cross Xx (heterozygote) with xx (homozygote recessive). In the 4 squares of the punnet square you get 2 Xx and 2 xx, which makes 50% homozygous recessive.

4. E
You will have 25% RrYy, 25% Rryy, 25% rrYy, 25% rryy

5. I forget, I suggest looking up the definitions in your text book, but I'm pretty sure its one of the Mendel's law/principles.

6. E
If you assume that tall is dominant, none of the offspring will be short. The resulting genotypes will be 50% homozygous tall and 50% heterozygous.
