-yeah, difinitely need a few more details here...but lets say the grade is made up of one class exam and one lab exam and lets say that the lab exam accounts for 40% of the final grade, and the class exam for the remaining 60% of your final grade.......
if i got a B in lab and a B in class, what will be my overall grade?

yeah, difinitely need a few more details here...but let's say the grade is made up of one class exam and one lab exam and let's say that the lab exam accounts for 40% of the final grade, and the class exam for the remaining 60% of your final grade. Then, it would be calculated as:

(83)(.4) + (86)(.6)=x

x = your final grade

note this is probably a simplified version of your course...ie. you may have had more assignments or exams, and they may be worth different proportions of your final grade so you'd have to change the numbers but thats basically how you calculate it

Depends on what percentage lab and class count towards your final grade, and if other things factor into your final grade. For example, in my school, the midterm counts 20%, homework counts 30%, class participation counts as 10%, Tests/Quizzes count as 20%, and Projects count as 20%. In your case, depending on how each thing is weighted, it will either be closer to 83% or 86% assuming there are not anymore factors.
