I want to get a bachelor's degree in biology. I am currently a freshmen in college. My plans on after is to go into medical school to become a doctor. But I am starting to think more about my decisions and possibly become a medical assistant. (If that's s possible with a biology degree) What options can you give where I can be in the medical field with a Biology bachelor's degree?

Oh man, I'm in the same situation as you. There are a lot of fields to biology. From my friends I've heard about two main domains (I'm in Health Sciences, which is very human-oriented, so, no animals). Research and clinical. Clinical involves many fields, such as medicine, nursing, pharmacology, etc., pretty much anything to do with health related subjects. Just think of a hospital and all the jobs there. Research on the other hand involves.... well... research. Working for a company that is looking to further the science and its understanding have jobs too. There's also many fields in that side as well.

I'm sure that there are also many places which you can work on something involving animals, if you're studying general biology then that is most of it, if you're a bit more streamlined into health care than clinical is usually the way to go.

My professor for cellular biology actually asked our class of 200 to put up our hands for what we wanted to do, and he just asked two things. One, medicine. Two, etc. 99% of my class put up their hands for medicine. Literally. What I'm saying is that my point of view is really narrow as I happen to be one of those 99%.
