Here as the man hadnt haemophilia child got it from the mother.she was the carrier of the disease.hope you got it clear........
Need help on highschool biology homework, I don't really understand the material.

The description is: Hemophilia is caused by a recessive sex-linked gene. A man with no evidence of hemophilia married to a woman with no evidence of hemophilia. The man's father had hemophilia. The couple's second child had hemophilia. List all the genotypes of all the individuals. thanks in advance!

-
as a basis haemophilia is carried by women,but doesnot show the diesease in them.disease shown only in men.as you know,in genetics we use these symbols
woman=XX
man=XY
recessive gene that gives haemophilia=h
dominant gene=H

this recessive factor is bonded with X allele
So
to show the disease a person must have both alleles ressesive= Xh
a carrier of this disease=XHXh
a healthy one with no haemophilia=XHXH OR XHY

therefore
genotypes of individuals are,
man's father=XhY
man=XHY
woman=XhXH
Child=XhY

Here as the man hadnt haemophilia child got it from the mother.she was the carrier of the disease.

hope you got it clear..
