3. Which result in the greatest change in the protein produced:c. adding one base pair the beginning of the DNA moleculeBecause a. will only change one amino acid at most; b. will add one extra amino acid but keeps the reading frame the same; c. will change the whole reading frame,......
- How many girls would have normal blood clotting and not be carriers of the hemophilia gene?

1. Not rRNA, but "restriction enzyme"

2. A group of three base pairs in DNA is a code for a specific amino acid.

3. Which result in the greatest change in the protein produced:
c. adding one base pair the beginning of the DNA molecule
Because a. will only change one amino acid at most; b. will add one extra amino acid but keeps the reading frame the same; c. will change the whole reading frame, so a completely different protein will be made, one that is very unlikely to have a function.

4. What is the significance of the type of bond which holds the base pairs together?
c. They are weak, and that allows the 2 halves of the molecule to separate and replicate

5. Which of the following is true in sickle-cell anemia?
e. all of the above

6. This is a dihybrid cross, with 2 independent traits; they have a 9:3:3:1 ratio in F2.
Yellow Tall: 9
green Tall: 3
Yellow short: 3
green short: 1

7A. I don't understand; if the woman has hemophilia, she should be XnXn, correct? Or is she just a carrier? I will assume she is a carrier.
The man indeed would be XnY.
Eggs would be XN or Xn (if the woman was XNXn) or Xn only (if her genotype was XnXn and she had hemophilia).
Sperm would be Xn or Y.

7B is very dependent on what the correct genotype of the mother is; maybe you can add an update.

***************************
EDIT: thanks - that helps. So the mother is XN Xn; the father is XnY.
