How do I "provide a rationale for my question" for my ap bio lab

one rationale might be -Chlorophyll is essential for photosynthesis.Green leaves obviously have a lot of chlorophyll.Leaves that do not appear green might have less chlorophyll, and therefore carry on photosynthesis at a slower rate.......
We are doing a photosynthesis in leaf disks lab and on the rubric it asks to provide a rationale. My question is whether or not leaves of different color will have a different rate of photosynthesis. Where do i put a rationale/how do i write one? Thank you!

The rationale for the question is the reason why you might ask the question, or the line of thought that led to the question. In this case, one rationale might be - Chlorophyll is essential for photosynthesis. Green leaves obviously have a lot of chlorophyll. Leaves that do not appear green might have less chlorophyll, and therefore carry on photosynthesis at a slower rate.
