And yes. Blood flow stops to brain so no oxygen, and therefore death.-the arteries that carry oxygen-carrying blood to the brain.......
lol just out of curiosity.. i've always seen that in movies, that they cut the throat and it instantly kills the person. is it the trachea?

-
Cutting the throat can sever the carotid arteries or trachea. If the arteries are cut, blood flow to the brain stops and the person passes out but is still alive for a few minutes until his heart pumps out all his blood and he dies from blood loss. If the trachea is cut, he will have a hard time getting oxygen to his lungs and pass out but still be alive until his brain cells die from no oxygen.

This does not kill anyone 'instantly'. Movies are not an accurate portrayal of anything. There are the carotid arteries that run either side the trachea and are the main source of oxygen to the brain. But severing these is not as easy as it looks, and death is not instant. Generally what happens is the victim thrashes, seizes from lack of oxygen to the brain and eventually dies. This is often accompanied by arterial spray since arterial blood is under more pressure and volume is higher in arteries than veins.

Bloodflow to the brain is stopped and blackout occurs very quickly

It's called 'throat slitting'. And yes. Blood flow stops to brain so no oxygen, and therefore death.
