The speed of light is 386000 mi/sec. How far does light travel in inches during 1.00 sec

the speed of light is 386000miles/second [again I work in the metric 3x10^8 m/s).Therefore in ONE second light travels 386000 miles. All you have to do is multiply 386000 miles by the miles to inches conversion factor (above). Therefore light travels 386000 x 63360 inches in 1 second = 24,456,960,......
Please show work so I can understand. 10 points to best answer!

1 mile = 63 360 inches [I live in Australia so working in miles is a little odd for me!]

Based on what you were given, the speed of light is 386000miles/second [again I work in the metric 3x10^8 m/s).

Therefore in ONE second light travels 386000 miles.

All you have to do is multiply 386000 miles by the miles to inches conversion factor (above).

Therefore light travels 386000 x 63360 inches in 1 second = 24,456,960,000 Inches

FYI, whether you're in Australiz or wherever, light speed is still 186,000 mi/sec or 300000 km/sec.
