When adding and subtracting measurements, the answer should have the least number of decimal places as the measurement with the least number of decimal places.

The 2 measurements: 0.2 g and 4.6578 g. 0.2 has 1 decimal place and 4.6578 has 4 decimal places. The answer should have only 1 decimal place.

....4.6578 g
..-.0.2 g
-------------------
....4.4578 g (round answer so that it has only 1 decimal place: 4.5 g)

therefore the answer is 4.5 g and this answer has only 2 significant figures.

*** By the way, when multiplying and dividing, your answer should have the least number of significant figures not decimal places.

There should only be two SigFigs. The rule for SigFigs with addition/subtraction is however many decimal places the number with the fewest places contains is shown. The left side is left alone. So, when you subtract it your answer would be shown as 4.6
