What is the expected major product arising from reaction of 2-butyne
with one mole equivalent of Cl2?


I don't understand how you would go about answering this question. Any help would be great!

Just like adding a halogen across a double bond, adding across a triple bond tends to lead to the halogens ending up on opposite sides of the molecule.
