Why are acids more soluble in basic solutions

You can make a base more soluble by adding acid. Why does this happen? It has something to do with hydroxide ions and hydronium ions, maybe. Please explain.

they react with one another very easily, OH-(hydroxide) reacts with H+(hydronium) too form water and does so without any effort
