Help: Am I suppose to take the log or antilog

12 - 0.76 (2.13) = 3.What did you end up getting for the answer? Could you show step by step ? Also do I take the antilog of 3.......
Problem:
Calculate the IC50 for the compound based on the Kow value.
*Formula for calculating IC50 is (Log IC50 = 5.12 - 0.76 log Kow )

*Known : Benzene--->> log Kow = 2.13

So it would be set up like this --->> Log IC50 = 5.12 - 0.76 (2.13) = 3.15

What did you end up getting for the answer? Could you show step by step ? Also do I take the antilog of 3.15 to get the complete answer? <--- thats where im confused. Thanks

You do have to do the "antilog" to get the actual value of the IC50 of 10^3.15.

Its a bit like saying 2X = 5.12 - 0.76 (2.13), to find X you have to divide by 2.
