lenpol7 say: 'O2' is diatomic oxygen. ; Structurally O=O
This is the stuff that makes up the atmosphere, which we breath.

Oxygen (O) can exist as ozone (O3) which the three atoms combine as a triangle.
Such is the difference between O2 & O3 that O2 we breath to remain alive, but O3 is poisonous, but is needed in the upper atmosphere to protect the Earth (Us) from harmful Solar radiation).

NB All gases except the inert/noble gases exist as diatomic or triatomic molecules.
They do NOT exist as single monatomic) atoms.
