can sugar crystals be reused?
I was looking up ways to make crystals, and I got to thinking Crystals can be made at home from salt, or sugar. and I wondered...
After it is crystallized, can it be ground up and used as normal sugar, can it be recrystallized again, or does it change somehow?

answers:
Roger the Mole say: Yes, sugar can be "reused". Crystallization changes nothing except it's form. But you shouldn't eat it unless all the equipment and solvent(s) you used in the process were at least as clean as the dishes you eat from.

salt can be prepared the same way.

those crystals can indeed by ground back into finer particles
-
Metalplanttag say: It is still sugar and can be dissolved again and made into new chrystals.
-
Nancy say: same substance just in a different form
-
Raymond say: No need to grind them.
Table Salt (NaCl + nH2O) can be turned into pure NaCl crystals.
These will still dissolve in water... and you get salt water... as usual.

Same thing with sugar.
