How did the earth become aerobic

Aerobic is being used as synonomous with oxygen; when plants started to photosynthesize carbon dioxide and water into sugar and produce oxygen, with sunlight enerfgy from the sun, the earth's atmosphere became aerobic.

By photosynthesis from stromatolites.
