What should my multimeter read when measuring resistance of a capacitor

check with a MM, a good one will charge up because youre applying a violtage from the meter.shorted one will be zero ohms.Replace if you can-best remedy.......
Most capacitors that I've measured resistance of made my multimeter show a constantly increasing number. Is that how it's supposed to be? I also tried it on a couple other capacitors that returned 0 for resistance. Does it mean they are burned out?

Capacitors are weird. I've found they can be open, shorted or somewhere in between. When you
check with a MM, a good one will charge up because you're applying a violtage from the meter. A
shorted one will be zero ohms. A good capacitor will measure megs of resistance and a steady in-
between reading will be a "partial short"

Replace if you can-best remedy.
