You are predisposed to select him. When you bias a device, you are ensuring that it is predisposed to act in some way. If a diode is forward biased, it is expected to conduct. Bias could be some current applied to the diode so that it remains in the conducting mode.......
how did it get that name?plsss explain in detail...

When you are biased towards a person who is appearing for an interview, you are likely to select him even if he is not the right person. You are predisposed to select him.
When you bias a device, you are ensuring that it is predisposed to act in some way. If a diode is forward biased, it is expected to conduct. Bias could be some current applied to the diode so that it remains in the conducting mode. When 1mA is passed through a diode, because it conducts, its ac resistance is low (26 ohms).
When you bias a transistor to ensure that base is at a certain potential with a specific emitter resistance RE, it is expected to conduct with an Ic of about (VB-VBE)/RE
Bias is predisposing a device to a certain state.
It might have got the name by the action it does. Bias predisposes..

Bias Voltage is the dc supply Voltage and resulting current that is applied through resistive Voltage dividers and resistive current limiters at various points in an electronic circuit that sets the static (no input signal) current and Voltage levels throughout the circuit. An amplifier circuit may be biased to reproduce and/or amplify all or any part of the input signal. Bias Voltage determines the class at which an amplifier operates. Proper bias to an amplifier sets the no signal current and Voltage levels such that the desired output is achieved when a signal is applied to the amplifier`s input.
