This should be 15 SRP's no problem. But what you may call an SRP is not what I would call an SRP so it's difficult to call really.

In this answer I will discuss the factors that have influenced the development of tourism in the Mezzogiorno in Italy. The Mezzogiorno is a peripheral region in Europe. Tourism has been an important part of the economic development of this region. Physical and human factors have contributed to the development of tourism in the region.

The physical environment of the Mezzogiorno favours the development of the tourist industry. The region experiences a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers. Summer temperatures average 29oC, which makes the region attractive for sun holidays. The region also experiences mild winters with temperatures rarely falling below 11oC. In winter skiers are attracted to the slopes of the Appenines. The physical beauty of the Mezzogiorno also makes it attractive to tourists. The bay of Naples, the Amalfi and Sorrento coastlines and the islands of Sicily, Sardinia and Capri are important tourist destinations in the region. The volcanoes of Vesuvius in Naples and Etna in Sicily continue to attract large numbers of tourists.

Human factors have also contributed to the development of tourism in the region. The region has many cultural attractions such as the historic city of Pompeii. The family orientated culture of Italians also makes the region attractive as a destination for family holidays.

Government intervention has also contributed to the development of tourism in the region. The Italian government recognised the importance of tourism and in recent years the Cassa per Il Mezzogiorno has invested heavily in the region. Investment in the transport infrastructure has had a positive influence on the development of tourism. Accessibility to the region has improved greatly with the development of the “Autostrada del Sole” motorway, which begins near the Swiss border and ends in Calabria in the “toe” of Italy. A new airport has been built at Calabria, which greatly improves accessibility to the region. The Cassa per II Mezzogiorno also provided grants to upgrade accommodation facilities in the region.
