[Hint: (a−x) = − (x − a)]

You can cancel (x - 4).

-2(x - 4) / 3(x - 4) = -2/3

Meli 409 has it correct. The key to the answer lies in the multiplication tables by recognizing that 2 is a factor of 8 and 3 is factor of 12. I don't think that is taught in school anymore. I hope I am wrong.
