i thought it should be "eighteen and seventy-four hundredths"

Why you would say "seventy four" is beyond me. Must be american. How on earth do you express irrational numbers to high decimal places if you say a whole number?
Is pi "three point fourteen thousand one hundred and fifty nine"?
