Evaluate

8 + 2 x 9² =

Alright so they brackets mean everything in them has to be done first before you can multiply by 2. In addition, everything in the parenthesis has to be done first. So as follows:

2 [5 (4 x 6) - 3]
2 [5 x 24 -3]
2 [117]
2 x 117
= 234

In the second one, you have to do the power first

8 + 2 x 9² =
8 + 2 x 81 =
8 + 162 =
170

-
it should say simplify...
2[5(4 x 6)-3]
2[5 x 24-3]
2[121-3]
2x118=236

8+2 x 9^2=
8+2 x 81=
8+162=170

-
2[5(4x6)-3]
=2[5(24)-3]
=2(120-3)
=2(117)
=234

8+2x9²
=8+2x81
=8+162
=170

-
2 [5 (4 x 6) - 3]
2 [5 (24) - 3]
2(120 - 3)
2(117)
234

8 + 2 x 9²
8 + 2 x 81
8 + 162
170

-
2(5(4(6))-3)
2(5(24)-3)
2(120-3)
2(117)
234

8+2(9^2)
8+2(81)
8+162
170

-
2 [5 (4 x 6) - 3]=234

8 + 2 x 9² =170

-
234; 170
