and times 3 toget pike. if u add them together u get 500.5..........
Grad 8 math plzz answer and exain I dontget a fling thing here t Is : the number of bass and pike in a lake are estimated to be in ratio of 5:3 there are 500 fish in lake how many bass and how many pike are there?

-
Out of every 8 fish, 5 are estimated to be bass and 3 are estimated to be pike. The estimated number of bass will be 500*5/8 ≈ 312 and the estimated number of pike will be 500*3/8 or 500-312 = 188.

Since both numbers are calculated to be exactly on the 0.5 dividing line, it's appropriate to round to the even numbers, 312 and 188.

-
bass: about 313 (312.5)
pike: about 188 (187.5)
because 3:5 soo theres 8 parts in total. u divide the 500 by 8. and you muttiply by 5 to get the bass part. and times 3 toget pike. if u add them together u get 500. hope i helped(:

-
5 to 3 is ratio of bass to pike

Add 5+3 to get a total ratio

BASS
**********
TOTAL

5........B
**..=..****
8.......500

8B=2500

B=312.5=Bass

Pike = 500 -312.5=187.5

-
500/8 = 62.5

5 x 62.5 = 312.5

3 x 62.5 = 187.5

313 bass and 188 pike

-
5/5+3=5/8
5/8=x/500
5(500)/8=2500/8= 312.5 (313)
500-313=187
Bass: 313
Pike: 187

-
500 times 5.3

-
312.5 bass
187.5 pike

-
There are 427 Bass and 73 Pike.
