Difference between a circle with a radius of .5 and a diameter of .55

Working in CAD and I feel like I've went retarded.

radius .5 has a radius of .5, diameter of 1, and area of 0.25(pi)
diameter .55 has a radius of 0.275, diameter of 0.55, and area of 0.275^2(pi)

Are you looking for the difference between the areas...?

Area of circle with a radius of .5 = π * 0.5^2

= 0.7853...... π

Radius of the circle with a diameter of .55 = 0.55 / 2
= 0.275

Area of circle with a diameter of .55 = π * 0.275^2
= 0.2375...... π

Difference = 0.7853π - 0.2375π
= 0.5478π
= 1.72
