Therefore y is -8 when x is equal to -2.Hope I helped.-1.2.......
im not entirely sure how to work out these questions, help with the working out??
1. For the rule y = 3x - 2, what is y when x = -2?

2. For the rule y = 4x + 7, what is y when x = 2?

by the way, don't go all "i'm not helping you with your homework" crap. Either answer the question or don't

I'm not helping you with your homework.

Just kidding. Ok. Let do number 1.

Since the equation is y = 3x - 2, it asks you what y is when x = -2.

All you have to do is replace variable X to -2. Like this:

y = 3(-2) - 2

Then find the y.

y = 3(-2) - 2
y = -6 - 2
y = -8

Therefore y is -8 when x is equal to -2.

Hope I helped.

1. y=3(-2)-2
y=-6-2
y=-8

2. y=4(2)+7
y=8+7
y=15
