How do I convert 1 hour and 25 minutes into decimal hours

E.g. convert the minutes segment to a value in between 1-10 not 1-6.

25 minutes is 25/60
when we shorten it we get
5/12
as we cannot get too precise answer we get
0.41(6)
in minutes, where (6) means unlimited repetition of 6 afterwards.
Hence 1 hour and 25 minutes is exactly
1.41(6)
or if you prefer
1.4166....

25 minutes would be 25/60 as a fraction then reduce that to 5/12 then convert 5/12 to a decimal.
5/12 is 0.416666, so the answer is 1.41666 or 1.417 as decimal hours.

1 HOUR = 60 MINUTES
25 MINUTES = 25/60 HOURS = 5/12 HOURS

ANSWER 1 5/12 HOURS

1.417 hours.

Each minute is 1/60 of an hour. 1 hour and 25 minutes is 85/60.

So you just take 85 divided by 60 and you will get your answer.
