my final exam worth 30% and i have got 78.1% in my class. what mark do i need to get at least 85% or is it even possible? maybe 83% the very best?

You'd need to get at least 95% on the final to bring you overall average to 83%
If your overall average based on 70% of the grade criteria is 78% and the final is worth 30%, do you really think it's likely you will score between 95 & 100% on the final exam? Be realistic, if you score between 80 & 85%, that would be possible and in line based on your performance up to this point.

If you score 100% on your final exam, your overall grade will be:
100×30% + 78.1×70% = 84.6%
If you score 100% on your final exam, your overall grade will be:
100×30% + 78.1×70% = 84.6%
