I have to simplify √(7/8), and I checked the back of my textbook for the answer. It's (√14)/4. The thing is, I need to show my work and I'm not sure how to get to this answer. Please help?

-
√(7/8)
= (√7) / (√8)
= (√7) / √(2*2^2)
= (√7) / 2*√2
= (√7) / 2*√2 * √2/√2 (rationalize denominator)
= √14 / 2*2
= √14 / 4

Hope this helps :)

-
√7*√8
..over
√8*√8

=
√56
over
..8

√56 = √4√14 = 2√14

2 cancels out with the 8 and makes the 8 a 4

√14
over
4
