How could geometric manipulation of a Cube be used to calculate square roots

If you double the length of one side then you will multiply the long diagonal by sqrt(6) and the longer minor (face-embedded) diagonals by sqrt(5).

If you double the length of two sides, you will get different numbers which might be useful to you :)
