Could you use this as an example: a+2=5+4a

A simple equation with one unknown?

* Get the variable on one side, get the constants on the other
* If necessary, divide by whatever you need to get 1 * variable expressed by the constants

In the example, subtract 5 from both sides:

a - 3 = 4a

Subtract a from both sides:

-3 = 3a

Divide by 3:

a = -1
