or since multiplication is the same as division by the reciprocal,we could therefore also begin by (multiplying by 2) and then (dividing by h).......
Solve for b. A=1/2bh. Enter answer as a fraction like this b=(_)/_

-
what u need to do is 'isolate the variable'...

notice first that
A = (1/2)bh
can be written as
A = (bh)/2

NOTE: it's like saying multiplying something by one-half is the same as dividing it by 2.

the key idea is to 'undo' the operations that are being applied to the variable 'b'.

there are two operation being done to 'b' on the RHS of the equation:
they are: :
b is (multiplied by h) and then (divided by 2)

thus, we could start by first (dividing by h) and then (multiplying by 2)

or since multiplication is the same as division by the reciprocal, the commutative property holds

we could therefore also begin by (multiplying by 2) and then (dividing by h).

either way we get:
b = 2A/h

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++…

-
A= 1/2 b h
so

b= 2*A/h

-
A = (1/2) bh
2A = bh
b = 2A / h
