Someone please help with Maths: How do I work out the petrol cost over a year

The annual litres used is 6122.44 and the current petrol price is 135.9. Do I do 6122.44 * 135.9? When I do this I get 823039.596. How is this figure supposed to be written? Thanks

You forgot that the current petrol price you have used is 135.9p per litre not £135.9, so you are out by a factor of 100 and the annual cost would actually be £8,320.40.

as the petrol price is 135.9 cents, your answer will be expressed in cents, so you need to divide your answer by 100 to get the price in dollars, therefore the price will be $8230.40
