Hello. I'm 13 years old and about a year ago, I woke up and went to walk out of my room. As I reached for the door, my body froze. Then I couldn't see but I knew my whole body was shaking. I passed out on the floor. I'm wondering if it was just a dream, or if I just fainted, or maybe it was some sort of seizure. I don't smoke, drink, or do any drugs. Please help.

If this occurred a year ago and you have had no further problems, it was likely not a seizure. It sounds as if you may have had vaso-vagal syncope or orthostatic hypotension. In some people, especially teens who are tall and thin, a sudden change from lying flat to standing results in a momentary drop in blood pressure with resultant momentary decrease in blood supply to the brain, that leads to the symptoms you describe. A low blood sugar could produce similar results. Seizure like jerking can accompany the former. Actual seizures can accompany low blood sugar.
