Help with my math homework

Alright here is the problem, x/2+6=5x-12, find the x. Please help?? My teacher also said there may not be an answer.

x/2 + 6 = 5x - 12
x/2 - 5x = -12 - 6
-9x/2 = -18
-9x = -36
x = 4

multiply the whole eqution by 2 than it become
x + 12=10(x)- 24
10(x)- x=12+ 24
9x = 36
x= 4

x/2+6=5x-12 now all this multiply with 2
x+12=10x-12
-10x+x=-12-12 now all this multiply with -1
10x-x=12+12
9x=24
x=24/9
