Compare the total amount of sodium in the two cans of tomatoes (can 1 has 560mg with 23% daily value, can 2 has 300mg with 12% daily value).if anyone can help me out with these it would be much appreciated...thanks!......
yeah so its been so long since ive done these kind of problems and its irritating the hell out of me...

1. 2 1/2 * 3 and 1/2 * 1 1/12 =
2. 2 1/2 * ( 3 2/5 divided by 4)
3. Find the area of the triangle when base is 3 and height is 1 1/2
4.Compare the total number of calories in the two cans of tomatoes (can 1 has 45 calories, can 2 has 25 calories).
5. Compare the total amount of sodium in the two cans of tomatoes (can 1 has 560mg with 23% daily value, can 2 has 300mg with 12% daily value).

if anyone can help me out with these it would be much appreciated...thanks!

The easiest way is to first convert the mixed numbers to improper fractions:

a b/c = (ac + b) / c
4 2/3 = (4 * 3 + 2) / 3 = (12 + 2) / 3 = 14 / 3

Then multiply, so in the 2nd one (because I have no idea how to interpret the 1st one as you wrote it):

(2 1/2) * ((3 2/5) / 4)
((2 * 2 + 1) / 2) * (((3 * 5 + 2) / 5) / 4)
(5 / 2) * ((17 / 5) / 4)

Do what is in the parenthesis 1st (remember when dividing fractions, you multiply by the reciprocal)

(5 / 2) * ((17 / 5) * (1 / 4))
(5 / 2) * ((17 * 1) / (5 * 4))
(5 / 2) * (17 / 20)
(5 * 17) / (2 * 20)
85 / 40
17 / 8

Convert back to mixed number

2 1/8

For number 3, remember that the area of a triangle is (1/2)bh

For numbers 4 and 5, I have no idea what is being asked here as it seems there is missing data (like the size of the cans or something)
