......
I feel like I'm doing this right but my online homework thingy keeps saying it is wrong so someone please show me how you do it to see if I am doing this wrong.

-2x^2+10x-1

-
y = −2x² + 10x − 1
y = −2 (x² − 5x) − 1
y = −2 (x² − 5x + (5/2)² ) + 2(5/2)² − 1
y = −2 (x − 5/2)² + 23/2

where:
a = −2
h = 5/2
k = 23/2

-
y = -2x² + 10x - 1

factor out the leading coefficient
y = -2(x² - 5x) - 1

complete the square
y = -2(x² - 5x + (-5/2)²) + 2(-5/2)² - 1
y = -2(x - 5/2)² + 23/2

-
you must mean vertex form
y=a(x-h)^2+k
