Elaine has two suitcases that are similar rectangular
solids. he length of the second suitcase is twice the
length of the irst suitcase. If the irst suitcase has a
volume of 1568 cubic inches, what is the volume of
the second suitcase in cubic inches?
A. 3136
B. 6272
C. 9408
D. 12,544

wondering how you would figure it out, i need to figure it out step by step i know the answer already. thanks

answer is D. I need to know how you get D fully please.

The way i did the question is this.. i'm not sure if this is the best approach to this question
V=lwh , V1 stands for first suitcase
V1=1568
For the second suitcase
we know that the length is twice as large as the first one so,
V= 2lwh
if the length is twice as big i assumes the width and height will be twice as big,
so now the volume for second suitcase is,
V= 8*lwh
Since the first v- 1568 the second one has to 8* 1,568 = 12,544

V = lwh = 1568

V of second suitcase = 2lwh = 3136
