HELP ON EASY MULTIPLYING POLYNOMIALS BY MONOMIAL!!

-5(x + 1) = 2x - 1

-5(x + 1) = 2x - 1 distribute the -5 to everything in the parentheses
-5x - 5 = 2x - 1 add 5x to both sides
-5 = 7x - 1 add 1 to both sides
-4 = 7x divide both sides by 7
-4/7 = x
