How would you solve a question in this format? Please include steps to the answer

The tallest freestanding structure in the world is the CN tower, located in Toronto, Ontario. It is 390 m taller than the tallest church tower in the world, located in Germany. The sum of their heights is 710 m. Use linear systems of equations to model this situation, and find the heights of the CN tower and the church tower.

And this one?

For a chemistry experiment Laura needs 300 ml of a 15% sulphuric acid solution. The Science Department has quantities of 5% acid solution and 20% acid solution. What volume of each solution is required to mix together to get her required concentration?

a + b = 710
a = b + 390

b + 390 + b = 710
2b + 390 = 710
2b = 320
b = 160

a + 160 = 710
a = 550

5 * x + 20 * y = 15 * 300
x + y = 300

x = 300 - y

5 * (300 - y) + 20 * y = 15 * 300
1500 - 5y + 20y = 15 * 300
15y = 15 * 300 - 1500
15y = 15 * 300 - 15 * 100
y = 300 - 100
y = 200

x + 200 = 300
x = 100

100 ml of the 5% and 200 ml of the 20%
