-1.so a^2 = 16 and b^2 = 4so a^2 = b^2 = 20-1.13.5. a+b = the square root of 36 or 6 and a - b equals the square root of 4 or two so if you take these two equations and add them you get a = 4 and if you sub in for a then b = 2 if you solve the equation you get 40-Math help! Please help ?......
1. Factor completely 4x^2-64
13. X^2 = 49 solve for x
5. If (a+b)^2 = 36 and (a-b)^2 = 4 Then a^2+b^2 =?

-
1. 4(x^2 - 16) ==> 4(x-4)(x+4)
13 x^2 = 49 ==> x= +/- 7
5 (a+b)^2 = 36 ==> a+b = +/-6
(a-b)^2 = 4 ==> a-b = +/- 2 add the two equations and solve

a+b = 6
a-b = 2 2a=8 ==> a =4 b = 2

so a^2 = 16 and b^2 = 4 so a^2 = b^2 = 20

-
1. factor out a 4 to get 4(x^2-16) then seperate the squares to make a binomial 4[(x+4)(x-4)]

13. x^2 = 49 if you square both sides x = 7

5. a+b = the square root of 36 or 6 and a - b equals the square root of 4 or two so if you take these two equations and add them you get a = 4 and if you sub in for a then b = 2 if you solve the equation you get 40

1. Factor completely 4x^2-64 = (2x-8)(2x+8)

13. X^2 = 49 solve for x---->x = (+/-)7

5. If (a+b)^2 = 36 and (a-b)^2 = 4 Then a^2+b^2 =?

if (a+b)^2 = 36, then a+b = 6

if (a-b)^2 = 4, a-b = 2

add a+b = 6 and a-b = 2 to get 2a=8; a = 4.

if a = 4, then a+b = 6 means 4+b=6, or b = 2.

a^2+b^2 = 16+4=20

a^2+b^2 = 20

1. 4x^2 and -64 are both divisible by 4. When we divide by four we get x^2-16, which is the difference of squares. We can simplify this into (x+4) (x-4), so we get 4 (x+4) (x-4)

2. the answer is sqrt(49). We get x = +7, -7

5. The second is easier than it may look at first... All we have to do is simplify each equation and add. (A + B)^2 = A^2 + 2AB + B^2 = 36, and (A - B)^2 = A^2 - 2ab + B^2 = 4.

When we add we get 2A^2 + 2B^2 =40
Divide by 2 to get:

A^2 + B^2 = 20

1) 4 ( x^2 - 16)

4 ( x+4) ( x-4) ANSWER

13 ) x^2 = 49

x = +7 OR -7 ANSWER

5) (a+b)^2 = 36
( a-b)^2 = 4

ADD ( a+b)^2 + ( a-b)^2 = 40

a^2 + b^2 +2ab + a^2 + b^2 -2ab = 40

2 ( a^2 + b^2) = 40

a^2 + b^2 = 20 ANSWER

-
1. 4x^2 - 64

4(x^2 - 16)
4(x + 4)(x - 4)

2. x^2 = 49

x = √(49)
x = 7

5.
(a + b)^2 = a^2 + 2ab + b^2
(a - b)^2 = a^2 - 2ab + b^2

x + 2ab = 36
x - 2ab = 4

x = 32/2 = 16
36 - 16 = 20
4 + 16 = 20

a^2 + 20 + b^2 = 36
a^2 + b^2 = 16

or

a^2 - 16 + b^2 = 4
a^2 + b^2 = 20
