1) You have a rectangle and a triangle on top. So find the area of both the shapes, then add them together.
Area of rectangle = 6 x 10 = 60
Area of triangle = .5 x 6 x 7 = 21
60 + 21 = 81

2) Looks like a trapezoid and two congruent parallelograms. Find the areas of the shapes and add them together.
Area of trapezoid = .5 x 8 x (17 + 14) = 124
Area of parallelogram = 14 x 6 = 84
Double it because there are two congruent parallelograms, so 168
124 + 168 = 292
