linear dependent problem.?
Determine the value c so that the vectors v1, v2, v3 are linearly dependent, where

v1=[c 1 1], v2=[1 c 1], v3=[1 1 c].

answers:
say: c=1 is obvious but to get the other solution:

|c 1 1| = 0
|1 c 1|
|1 1 c|

c(c²-1) - 1(c-1) + 1(1-c) = 0

c³ - c - c + 1 + 1 - c = 0

c³ - 3c + 2 = 0

(c-1)²(c+2) = 0

c = 1 or c = -2

ted s say: compute the determinant of the 3 vectors , set to 0 and solve for c....but c = 1 is obvious , then you can show that c = - 2 also works
