What are the advantages/disadvantages of hypodermic needles compared to others

Your question doesn't make much sense. Your typical beveled cutting hypodermic needle doesn't have much competition, as it gets the job done. What are you trying to compare it to?

My all time favorite needle is a Whitacre point, 3 1/2 inch, 25g spinal needle. I could tell you why I love - yes LOVE - that needle, but you wouldn't really care.

What others? Very weird question.
