I cannot impress upon you more fully that the course of two patients with the same diagnosis and similar issues could go very differently. Some patients would recover very slowly from this, while others would move through the process quickly. Human response to injury and to treatment can be highly variable. I hope this has helped. Best wishes.

Laceration-Wash with fresh, clean water, apply a topical antibiotic to the laceration, and cover with gauze until healed.

Broken Wrist-Order an X-Ray to see the severity of where it is, have it rebroken by a doctor so that the wrist heals properly and further surgery is needed, order a cast for the hand/wrist/arm to avoid movement and further possible damage.

Brain hemorrhage-Order a CT to discover where exactly the hemorrhage occurred. Depending on where it is, surgery may be needed. If the size is greater than 3 cm, a catheter will be ordered to close off that blood vessel and dilate others to avoid too much pressure within the brain. Mannitol should be given to reduce overall intracranial pressure to avoid further hemorrhages, corticosteroids to reduce swelling, Acetaminophen to reduce any fever if there is any, and antihypertensives. Intubation may be needed if the patient is not conscious.

Recovery for hemorrhage-Depending on what type of therapy was used, antihypertensives or diuretics may be issued for weak blood vessels. Drive cautiously if at all, avoid smoking, ANY DRUG USE, drinking, and be sure to keep ALL appointments with your doctor as scheduled. Coumadin levels need to be consistently checked to be sure that levels are in the correct range.

neosporin on the head, cast the wrist, drill a relief port for the brain and administer plenty of aleve and a steady diet. Don't forget to tell them you care about him/her.
